Etica Groups Unique Approach to Environmental Consulting

Updated: Sep 26

Did you know Etica Group, a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), has recently expanded its service offerings to include environmental consulting, specifically focusing on NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) and waterway permitting? This new addition further strengthens our commitment to providing comprehensive and sustainable solutions to our clients.

Why Should You Care About NEPA With Your Projects?

Now, you might be wondering, what's the big deal about NEPA? Well, NEPA is the linchpin to almost every infrastructure project. I’m willing to bet that you’ve had projects delayed by NEPA and wondered how everything came crashing down on Environmental. Without proper guardrails in place, this critical environmental law, which requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions, can often run away and blind-side a project manager. It all comes down to ensuring that environmental considerations are integrated into the decision-making process from day one. Understanding how these regulations impact your projects is critical to delivering finished projects on time and within budget, and it takes considerable experience to effectively communicate and plan the process efficiently.

Who Is Etica Group’s Environmental Group?

Leading this new environmental initiative is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in environmental consulting.

Paul Killian, brings 12 years of experience to Etica Group’s environmental project management.

His expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of environmental assessments for transportation and infrastructure projects, including rare and endangered species surveys, wetland determinations/delineations, waterway and stormwater permitting, mitigation plan development, NEPA documentation, and specialized GIS data analysis.

How Is Etica Group Different Than Other Firms You Work(ed) With?

Paul Killian has previously worked within engineering firms, giving the department a deep understanding of the plan development process. His career familiarity working within this process alongside engineers enables him to ensure that timelines are met and to anticipate and address potential challenges, minimizing surprises that could derail a project.

In addition, we utilize a multitude of tools at our disposal to keep decision makers, project managers, and interested parties abreast of project development. From the very beginning of each project, Etica Group outlines red flag concerns, plan components to be considered, and timelines to match with each Stage of plan development. We’re also not afraid to call in a few favors when things get hairy.

Concluding Thoughts

The addition of environmental services to Etica Group's range of offerings demonstrates our commitment to providing complete solutions for our clients. We are confident that our experienced environmental team will not only meet but exceed our clients' expectations, adding value to their projects while maintaining critical timelines and delivering quality finished projects.
