Building 2 at Camp Atterbury had failing infrastructure from cracked flooring, cold spaces on the building exterior and an HVAC system beyond its useful life. Renovating the space to meet current energy code was necessary.

What was the need?
To modernize the building and improve occupant comfort, Etica Group led the design team through a renovation to upgrade the HVAC and Plumbing systems and upgrade the building to meet current energy code requirements. Other interior finishes were updated to fix cracked flooring.
What was our solution?
The primary focus was adding insulation and drywall to the interior of the Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) exterior wall. We also replaced the attic insulation to help ensure the full building envelope was better insulated. We also added new epoxy flooring throughout the facility to address the cracked flooring. New ceiling and drywall bulkhead were installed to address the new plumbing lines. The exterior windows were replaced with energy efficient windows to meet the current energy code requirements. We also updated the restrooms on the west side of the facility to meet current accessibility requirements. The building exterior was also repainted and renovated due to the cracking in the masonry.
