Environmental Intern
Summary
Join the Etica Group’s dynamic and growing Environmental Group, delivering innovative solutions in environmental consulting. We are seeking a motivated Environmental Intern to support our environmental assessments and reporting for infrastructure construction projects. This multidisciplinary role involves conducting wetland delineations, preparing Waters of the U.S. Reports, coordinating with federal agencies on critical habitat and endangered species, and developing NEPA Environmental Documents. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders from concept development through project completion while gaining exposure to a broad skill set through both office and field experiences. You will be responsible for researching, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing project materials, and applying environmental law and policy to create the decision framework for infrastructure construction projects. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects with top experts in the state in a hybrid working environment, with opportunities for mentorship and professional development.
Responsibilities:

Analyze design plan and identify deliverables.

Compile and analyze data from multiple disciplines to propose technical solutions

Collect raw data, organize, research, and apply recognized analytical tools for comprehensive data review.

Prepare graphics and reports for projects.

Assist in creating and presenting project materials, concepts, graphics, and reports to clients and community groups.

Attend project team meetings, document meeting minutes, correspondences, and related project forms.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and client-specific programs with direction from more experienced staff.

Ability to compile and summarize data (e.g., census, land use, ecology, Section 106, air and noise) with guidance.

Basic understanding of environmental laws and regulations (e.g., NEPA, local, state, and federal laws).

Strong technical writing skills, utilizing basic templates to create technically sound reports.

Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.

Preferred skills in: GIS software, familiarity with environmental permitting process and/or NEPA process, and field experience in environmental assessments.
