Senior Project Engineer
Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer with a passion for design excellence, technical precision and client success. This is a leadership-track opportunity designed for an ambitious engineer to grow within the firm, guide project teams and develop market expertise in municipal, public safety or transportation design. You’ll own scope, schedule and budget for site/civil and municipal transportation projects. You’ll mentor engineers, interface with clients daily and drive consistent, high-quality delivery.
Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects from pursuit through close-out; develop scopes, fees, schedules and risk plans.

Serve as Engineer of Record for site/civil and transportation projects (QC/QA, sealed plans, specifications, estimates).

Plan and design parking lots (grading, drainage, pavement sections, lighting coordination), trails/greenways (geometrics, ADA/PROWAG, safety) and roadway resurfacing/rehab (limits, curb/ramp upgrades, pavement design, traffic maintenance).

Coordinate surveys, geotech, utilities, traffic control, environmental/permitting and construction administration.

Manage multidisciplinary teams; coach junior staff; conduct design reviews and constructability checks.

Maintain client relationships with municipalities, LPAs, higher-ed and private owners; support proposals and interviews.

Track performance (scope, schedule, budget, utilization) and lead monthly forecast/report-outs.
Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering and Indiana PE.

8–15+ years of progressive experience in civil/transportation design and project management.

Proven delivery of parking lots, trails/greenways and road resurfacing projects for municipal/LPA clients.

Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with INDOT/LPA standards.

Strong scope/fee development, schedule control, budget tracking, and consultant/subcontractor management.

Clear, confident communication with clients, review agencies and the public; team leadership and mentoring.
Desired Attributes

INDOT/LPA delivery experience (QBS pursuits, prequal categories and project close-out).

Pavement design/asset management exposure; ADA curb ramp upgrades; drainage modeling; specs & estimate leadership.
